Welcome to Year 4
4CJ - Centaurs
Mrs Cunliffe & Mr James
4G - Minotaurs
Mr Goss
Year 4 are excited to start their first term as Minotaurs (4G) and Centaurs (4CJ)!
We are currently enjoying our book for this term, Varjak Paw, which is about a Mesopotamian Blue cat who builds resilience and courage to accept who he really is.

Lots of our writing is based on our reading. We have been working hard building our descriptive language skills as well as sentence structure including using fronted adverbials.
In Maths, children are reinforcing their knowledge of place value through a mixture of practical work and application of their knowledge to problem solving and reasoning questions. Meanwhile, our scientists are learning all about sound, discovering how it is made, how it travels and how we hear it.
Please remember our PE days: 4G have PE on a Thursday afternoon and 4CJ on a Friday afternoon. Both classes are going to have fun with football, combining physical skills with opportunities to build teamwork and support each other.
In other subjects, children are also becoming the building designers of the future by researching and constructing structures and pavilions in DT. We are experimenting with rhythm in Music and considering what it might mean to be a Hindu today in Britain. Our work on the Romans will hopefully inspire any future historians!
