Medicine Administration

The school is prepared to administer prescription medicines when absolutely necessary (children who are obviously unwell should be kept at home) and upon receipt of the appropriate form.

We will administer the remainder of a course of antibiotics, only if it is to be administered four times daily. If medication is needed three times a day doctors are normally happy for a child to have medication before school, after school and before going to bed.

Staff cannot guarantee that children will receive their medication at an exact time.

However the Headteacher or Deputy will discuss arrangements on an individual need basis with parents.

If your child needs to be given medicine whilst at school you can download the medicine administration form here. Staff will only accept medication with a completed form and the medication with the pharmacy label intact which includes the name of the child and the dosage needed.
