Do you have a child starting school in September, or are you new to the Cheriton area?
We welcome families to visit the school for a personal tour during the school day, so that you can see the school in action and meet our friendly children and staff.
Pupils usually start primary school in the September following their fourth birthday. If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 this will be from September 2024. You must make an online application for a Reception place.
Closing date for making applications is 15 January 2025.
This year we are pleased that we are again able to host tours of the school for prospective parents. We also welcome families to visit the school for a personal tour during the school day.

For children starting school in September 2025 applications for both reception year and year 3 (junior school) will open on 5 November 2024 and close on 15 January 2025.
- You can apply for up to 3 schools.
- Put the schools in order of preference.
- It’s in your best interest to list 3 schools.
- Naming only one school does not guarantee your child a place at that school or give your child priority for a place over another child.
- You are not able to name the same school more than once.
To apply for a school outside of Kent, name the school in your application with your other preferences. Your application details will be passed on to the relevant local authority for processing.
Applications are processed between 16 January and 15 April 2025.
For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education
