Welcome to Year 3

3E Mrs Ellis and Mrs Scrace

3F Miss Fletcher and Mrs Ghale

3J Mr James, Mrs Sterrow
and Mrs Gurung

We are in Term 2 now and we are learning about Skara Brae as our topic. We have been focussing on our Geography skills in particular and we are trying to learn about the UK, its capital cities and countries.

In Science we are learning about light. We have thought about what a light source is and whether light sources are man made or natural. We are going to investigate shadows later in the term.

We have got a lot to learn in Maths this term! We have already thought about shape and angles, we are moving on to learn about fractions. For the last week of the term we are going to do some festive data handling!

In English we are focussing on a range of writing, using our topic as a basis. We have written non-fiction texts about what we have learnt about prehistoric times. We are particularly proud of our newspaper reports about Skara Brae.

As we will be visiting the pantomime soon, we will also be linking our English work to Cinderella!

We enjoyed time at the Forest School, we drank hot chocolate and ate freshly popped popcorn! We helped to tidy up the path areas and we helped in building the pond area!

We enjoyed exploring light and light sources!

We enjoyed making 3D shapes out of clay!
